Yes at Porter Communications we provide both Residential and Business services.

What areas do you serve?

We are based out of Waterloo but offer service statewide. Outside of the Cedar Valley there is often a travel fee.

Security Cameras

Do you install both wired and wireless security systems? Will you install my equipment?

Yes we provide both wired and wireless security systems and will even install your equipment for you.

Can I view my cameras from my phone or computer?

Yes, as long as you have internet.

What brands of cameras do you install?

We install Ubiquiti, Luminys, Hikvision, Dahua, IC Realtime, Tapo, Reolink, Ring or any other system that you like. My preference is Ubiquiti or Reolink.

IT Support

Do you offer on-site computer repair?

Yes, we will come to you.

Can you help with Microsoft 365 and Teams setup?

Yes, we provide 365 and teams setup.

Do you install business networks and Wi-Fi systems?

Yes, this is one of the main things we do for our clients.

Do you work with servers and data backups?

Yes, we are here to help ensure your data is secure and accessible even after events like ransomware and natural disasters.

Pricing and Payment

How do you price your services?

We typically charge by the hour. Exceptions apply.

Do you require a deposit for equipment orders?

For equipment over 500$ we require a deposit.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards, Apple Pay, bank transfers, check, and cash.

Do you offer service contracts or ongoing maintenance plans?

Yes, we will customize a service contract based on your needs and budget.

Installations & Support

Will you show me how to use my new system after installation?

Yes, we provide training on how to use your new system.

Do you offer warranties on equipment or labor?

We provide a 30 day workmanship guarantee.

Do you provide support after the job is finished?

Yes, we will support our installed equipment and any previous equipment.
